Family run friendly restaurant with a limited but good menu. The Manager said he had just taken over from the previous owners a week ago. I had the Bruschetta starter which was tasty with plenty of tomatoes and then a home made pasta dish with strips of fillet beef which was certainly a good sized portion with a well flavoured tomato sauce, followed by a good sized panacotta with berries. We had just come from the rugby at Teickenham and we're all very hungry and this certainly ticked all the boxes being friendly unfussy Italian food. Sorrento is no longer there, this review is for Al Solito Posto which is in its place. This is our second visit here and it hasn't disappointed. The food is generous to say the least, and really good. The owner/chef/waiter is great, very friendly and helpful. We went on a rugby day, so select menu which is understandable. But we'd been before and had the liver to start which is out of this world. When they took our order my husband mentioned it was a shame the liver wasn't on, they explained about the limited menu due to rugby, took our order. Our experience was rather poor as unfortunately we visited on an evening when there had been a rugby match on at Twickenham Stadium and there was a group of supporters in the restaurant and although they didn't behave particularly badly they were very noisy and in a small restaurant made it worse. Maybe will try it on another evening as the evening we went would not have been particularly representative.
Booked the restaurant for a family meal prior to going to a rugby match at Twickenham. Was not aware until we arrived and were seated that there was ONLY a single 4 course menu available £49.95 per head. At this stage too late to change the venue. Very poor value as one of the courses was chips or a salad! Would have been reasonable £29.95. Beware match day limitations.
