A wonderful welcome from Marcus started our evening off well. He showed us to our table and asked if we were celebrating anything (which we were - my husband's belated birthday dinner with my brother). He was attentive - water, menus, ideas. We (3) of us shared:Chicken Xacuti - a Goan speciality consisting of ground poppy and cumin seeds, nutmeg, chillies and tamarind extract. My personal favourite - great heat (not too hot), just perfect balance of flavours - yummo !Lamb Feijoada - an authentic lamb dish cooked with black-eyed beans tossed in a masala consisting of ginger and lemon juice. A dryer dish but tasty (my husband loved this). Sabzi - combination of mixed fresh vegetables in a semi...

Visited on a Saturday night around 6:30 pm. Lucky to arrive this early as half an hour in, this place really starts to get inundated by the takeaway orders and the room service begins to fall apart. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong at all with any of the waiters. They are well trained, courteous and know the menu. But there would appear not to be enough of them. The food however is a strong point. It's delicious, contemporary and fresh and over the years it always has been so. Will definitely come back for the food but next time I hope the woman at the desk who we paid as we left has the time to smell the roses and get a chance to say the usual pleasantries with a smile. Can they n...

Road to Goa Indian restaurant has been a St Ives favourite for more than a decade. It is a non licensed restaurant situated in a small group of shops across the road from Hassle Park.Next door is an IGA where wine and other alcoholic beverages can be bought.Seating is both inside and out.The restaurant can be cramped and very noisy. The service is good with plenty of staff. The food is very good, with spice indicators on the menu. Generally speaking I think the heat in the meals has been modified to cater for the St Ives customers.Which I personally like, but I'm sure some might want a bit more heat.We had mixed entree, salmon, beef and lamb curries, basmati rice, pampadums, mango chutney , na...

This restaurant is always packed, obviously because it is fantastic!! The food is so delicious and flavoursome.. We had the soft shell crab (you will never find this dish at an Indian restaurant) and the Tandoori chicken (made differently in comparison to other Indian restaurants) for Entree. The beef vindaloo and Goan fish curry plus rice and naan for the Main. They made it with extra chilli, just delicious! We were so full, there was no space for dessert . But we asked for a scoop of ice cream and they were so obliging. The service was better than excellent. The staff have a very flexible and friendly attitude. Kudos to the owner/management. We had takeaway from this restaurant last week for the first time having only just moved to the area. We placed our order on line which was easy. We had the food delivered to us. We received an SMS informing us of the ETA for our meal and confirming same. The meal did arrive in that time frame. The presentation was clean and tidy no spills. We are not consumers of very hot curries so can't really comment on those. However the items we did have were delicious both mains, entrees and Nan Bread. The young man who delivered our meal was very nice and thanked us for giving clear directions for our address. We will order from Road to Goa again.

Went there on a friends recommendation and were not disappointed. Food is tasty, well presented and not the typical North Shore coloured sauce on everything. Tried the dahl entree and Cauliflower mains. A bit pricey but would return.

A great meal. The white bait as a starter was delicious. As a main can recommend the cauliflower best ever. The helpings are generous and 3 mains are sufficient for 4 people. Good service. In the Entertainment book and BYO.
