absolutely terrible service. first, their online ordering system falls one of my Rammen orders. both of my Ramen orders appeared in the bin when I paid, but the confirmation email contained only one ram order. Sure, maybe I should have checked it, but it is 2021 and that should not happen. second, I added that they ran out. when they said they were out, I asked if I could just leave it from the order, and they said yes, guess what they did not mention? they still wanted to ask me for it! they took my money back. Finally, and the reason why they deserve a star is that when I asked the girl in the window for the rest of the order, when I asked her about the fact that the quitting showed me yet...
takoyaki and spicy cod roe onigiri for the trip with some friends. takoyaki was extremely overcrowded. octopus was so rubbery that he jumped out of my mouth. it was also very fat, as if it was frozen, then fried deep. the onigiri hardly had a filling. maybe a teaspoon or less cod. the cod filling was actually very tasty and well seasoned, so it was so sad to get very little of it. the rice had also a good texture. I hate to write bad critikens, but unfortunately this must be one of them. the best for robata and a better experience next time.
I used to consider Robata my go-to sushi place, but I have been pretty disappointed the last few times I have gotten it. I’ll order a roll without a certain topping, but then multiple toppings are left off. Tonight, the rolls were made with so much rice to the point where there was also a ton of rice wrapped up inside the roll. Some of the rolls also weren’t closed completely and just fell apart when we tried to pick them up. Hopefully they can improve, because the prices are good, but the sushi used to be much better.
we were served dirty plates. the gyoza were subpar. they had disappeared in the menu. the spicy thun-roll was decent, but the rams and Udon-width was kind of tasteless and at the same time oversaled. To be honest, I was really excited to try this place, but it was an incredible farewell. I want to see if the gyudon is good, but I don't think I'm going to come back. Book a table now
I usually get good food from robata. Tonight was not good. I ordered wings and hot Raman. When I got my food the broth for my Raman was cold. Which means they made my Raman in 5 min and set it to the side to get cold. When I called to complain the server told me to warm it. Thats your only job. To make sure I get hot food. I paid 15 bucks for cold Raman.
I've been here twice, very good ramen and sushi! I prefer the regular noodles...thick ones are too thick. All the ingredients taste very fresh. This will be one of my go-to places for Japanese food in Maplewood.
The Sushi and starters are really good. But, if you’re looking for real authentic Japanese Ramen this is not for you. This Ramen was a nice try but it is nothing like real Japanese Ramen.
