My friend and I went here for dessert on Sunday night. We came in and waited at the sign that says to wait to be seated. We each took a turn to the washroom, trying not to lose our spot, before we were greeted from...someone behind the counter in front of us and told to go sit where ever we wanted. So, we did. It took us about 5 more minutes to be greeted at our table by our waitress, who seemed shocked that we still didn't have menus. She then tossed those on the table. She came back about 10 minutes later to take our order, which was fine. While they offer a variety of items like soups, salads, sandwiches, and wraps, the true standout at this restaurant is the impressive selection of cakes. From classic apple crumb cake to decadent millet breakfast cake, the cakes here are served in generous, towering slices that are perfect for sharing with a friend. Pies are also available for purchase to take home, and have become a birthday tradition in our household.
We were a group of about twelve people, including kids. We ordered plenty of penne for the kids, along with coffee and a variety of pies including raspberry, apple cheesecake, Nutella, and apple with vanilla ice cream. I had a cheese pizza with a side salad and a cappuccino. The washrooms were clean and there was easy parking available. The staff was very friendly and they also offered pies for takeout.
This place never disappoints. The blueberry crumble and ice cream was huge and delicious , as was the enormous Boston Cream slice. I was hungry and opted for the chicken BLT. But it was so huge it fell apart. The chicken was more of a...paste rather than a salad with chicken,but OK on a sesame seed bagel. Coffee , however , was thin and watery , disappointing.

the only negatiw I can say is: too many decisions! cheesecake, cake, coffee, muffins, cake, how can I make my mind? large service, generous portions, cozy atmosphere. great place to meet with friends for a late night snack!
The service was non existent, better off making everything self serve. The sandwich was barely average, and a small salad for $14?? There are far better choices you can make for a lunch restaurant.
The food is delicious and the service is excellent. The pies are always top-notch, especially my favorite apple crumble and cheesecake. The atmosphere is also very peaceful and relaxing.
Mediocre food but their pies are first rate, either to eat in or take out. The Crumb pies, apple and blueberry are the best, and so are the variety of chocolate cream pies.
