Went to this location a LOT in the 90s and 2000s, but just stopped before Covid (and about the time she rebranded from Don Jose. I was there twice last year with the second visit worse than the first. This last time we entered shortly after the opening. We sat right away and we were the only guests back then. But it took (literal five minutes for a busboy to deliver chips and salsa, five more minutes to get our drinks and then 10 more minutes to appear for our waiter! (20 minutes! Our meals came out at a reasonable time, but the flavors (meat, sauces, spices were quite down from our previous visit just three months ago, and more so from three years ago! I have gone here for years when it was Don Jose The food is good but refried beans no longer seem freshly made.Maybe out of a can? The taco shells are no longer seem homemade. Service is good. Will est here again but a little disappointed in the changes. Avila El Ranchito is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area.
My family and I have been coming here for many years. Francisco is our favorite server and the reason we keep coming back he is friendly, professional and prompt to have you served as quick as possible.
Everything was beyond delicious. Waiter was on point, didnt have to ask for a single thing, he was reading our minds. Free to go drinks.
