Overall, my last two visits to Rod's have been a bit disappointing. I've been going there for well over 10 years, for events, dinner and lunch. The last few times, it's as if Rod's is cutting back on their quality. A case in point their kale salad has always been one of my favorites lots of apples, goat cheese, nuts, and granola, as well as kale. On Saturday evening, it was loads of kale and not a lot else a little goat cheese, a few pine nuts, no granola, very few apple bits. Even very little dressing my companion had to ask for additional dressing, which was generously given, but it shouldn't have been necessary. The atmosphere and service were great! The food and drinks were severely lacking. The grilled octopus and lobster tail were overcooked and rubbery. The steaks had no flavor. The sides were mediocre. The fresh fruit was not at all sweet and the coffee tasted burnt. The margarita was off putting. Excellent piano player.
Two of us had the scallops, one had the pork chop and one had the swordfish. All were tasty. The noise level was a little high, but it quieted down as the evening went on. Our waiter (Billy J) was excellent).
Really awesome guacamole, individually made to order and easily sharable for our table of 4. Happy hour menu excellent value - fish and pork tacos were delicious!

Food was quite good. The Guac they make at the table was excellent. Drinks are frighteningly over priced. Service, while attentive, seemed a bit confused.

We celebrated 2 birthdays and it was wonderful. Service, food ambiance all top notch! Beats Capital Grille by a mile!
