I always enjoy the food at Macaroni Grill. However, I must warn you that if you make a reservation through OpenTable, it may be best not to make any special requests or check any special occasion boxes. It seems that the staff at Macaroni Grill never actually read the notes on the reservation to honor your request. I have made several reservations in the past requesting a particular table, only to arrive and find that table occupied because the hostess didn't read the notes. The restaurant is usually not very crowded when we dine early, so it seems there should be no problem reserving our requested table. I have only been to this restaurant one time and that was for dinner on Christmas. So I understand that my experience is most likely not what it would be on a “normal” evening. I made a reservation on open table for 6:00. We arrived on time to find a long line of people waiting to speak to the host. There were also many people in the waiting areas. When we finally reached the host we were told that they were running 30 minutes behind. It appeared to us that they had over booked or were just taking in people without regard to any reservation. My experience at Romano's Macaroni Grill in Aliso Viejo was disappointing. We were charged $34 for a bottle of wine that was advertised as $20 on the menu. When I questioned the waiter, he informed me that the $20 price was only applicable if we ordered a pre fixe meal, which was not disclosed on the menu. I felt cheated out of $14 and was unhappy with the bait-and-switch tactics employed by the restaurant. The way the waiter handled the situation was also unsatisfactory. As a result, I will not be returning to Romano's Macaroni Grill in Aliso Viejo in the future.
We were thrilled to discover that The Macaroni Grill was open on Christmas day. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The service was outstanding - Sarah anticipated all of our needs and fulfilled every request with a smile. The food, as always, was delicious. Even my 95-year-old mother, who usually eats very little, finished her entire meal. She said it was so tasty that she didn't want to leave anything behind. A heartfelt thank you to the entire staff for making our Christmas meal memorable.

Restaurant sat us 15 minutes after reservation only because we were upset that multiple tables were available. They said the kitchen was backed up so they didn’t want to sit us yet. Food came out cold, server forgot items, food took a while to come out. The restaurant was good about handling the issues with the food and comped those meals and brought out new food.
Our food was delicious and the service was friendly. The only disappointment was the fact that it was Christmas Eve and they were so busy they were not able to seat us until more than 20 minutes after our reservation time, despite our being prompt. But it was not a deal-breaker for us; we will just make sure to plan for that eventuality in the future.
Husband took me to celebrate my Birthday for a late lunch and the food, service, and overall ambiance was great. We loved it! Our server (I believe her name was Melissa) was fantastic and took very good care of us. We will be back again!
Excellent food. Love the Bibb Bleu salad. One small thing, sometimes it seems like there are fewer goodies on it--fewer blue cheese crumbles, fewer pecans, etc. Other than that, great!

We really enjoy eating at the Macaroni grill. Lately we've been enjoying the Bibb and Bleu salads with shrimp or chicken. The online offers encourage us to dine there.
New Year’s Eve dinner ... food was wonderful! I had the lobster bisque and the lamb. Tasty and well-prepared!
