Not sure why so many people like this place. The first time I went I got the Butter Chicken Pot Pie. I liked it, but it was much less food than I was expecting for the price. Second time I got the Fried Chicken and Chorizo Gravy waffles… it just tasted bad, texture was also pretty terrible. I normally love Indian food, and the idea behind this place is great, but the food quality is just not good. Beyond personal taste, my partner noticed that the eggs on the Butter Chicken Benny were not properly poached.
The restaurant has a charming retro diner atmosphere and the service was friendly. However, the food was mediocre, with the cottage pie being dry and tasteless. The summer car cocktail, which was described as a gin and turmeric honey drink reminiscent of a bees knees cocktail, turned out to be a simple screwdriver (vodka and orange juice) with a piece of crystallized ginger as garnish. In conclusion, the restaurant has a cute ambiance but the food is plain and the cocktails are misleadingly bad.
10/10 experience at Rosebud! Food was amazing and the menu is beautifully crafted love how much thought/care clearly went into coming up with inventive, fun dishes! We tried the Tikka Tots, Dal Hummus, Street Fried Noodles, Kati Roll, Fried Chicken Sandwich and some of the cocktails we honestly loved it all. Plenty of vegetarian options/gluten free options also. The service was wonderful, super attentive and everyone was so kind. We’ll definitely be back!!
Avoid this restaurant for American breakfast, as it is no longer offered. The coffee is terrible and the place was deserted on a Saturday morning, which is not surprising. The diner aesthetic does not match the cuisine, so it's best to stick with the Indian food options and skip the pancakes and bacon. It would be helpful to have a more diverse menu and address issues such as the leaking roof causing water damage, which is unsightly.

Man, such a fall from grace. Rosebuds USED to be one of the best restaurants in Davis, but it has completely fallen apart with the new ownership. The food was COMPLETELY tasteless and clearly very cheap. My stomach acted up immediately after eating seriously, buyer beware.
WRONG HOURS they close lock the door well over an hour earlier than posted, without warning, on a Friday night, while still serving other customers. We traveled to get here specifically because the menu looks so good. Guess we’ll never find out :
We had a fantastic dining experience at Rosebud Kitchen! The staff were very accommodating to our large group, and we had a wonderful time. The food was delicious! Can't wait to return soon.
Servers constantly try to sneak in upsells (fruit with french toast for 3 dollars extra?? Plus always trying to push drinks and dessert) which ruins the experience of eating here.

Went for the free stand-up on Tuesdays. The food was good, the setup of tables was awkward and the volume too loud given the small space.
The food is a nice twist from the regular American Dining experience. Loved the chicken tikka sauce and the desserts.
