The napkin on which the cola glass was placed had red wine stains, making it look like a cleaning cloth. The Altbier was clearly over 10°C. Since it should come from the cooler, I hope there is a separate cooler for food. Even when asked, there was no cold Altbier available. Before pouring myself an Altbier, I also poured the water from rinsing the beer glass into the water glass. The draft beer was then cold and tasty as it should be. Whether waiting 30 minutes for the appetizer is too much is debatable. There were also a few minor issues that would not have been noticed without affecting the overall impression. The menu was stained, the salt and pepper shakers on the table were stained, and the chairs were spotted. Not what one would expect from a restaurant like this. The empty water bottle was cleared away, but we weren't asked if we needed a new one. However, the food was good. I would recommend it to friends with a caveat that it doesn't quite live up to its promises.
Always delicious, the Chateau Birand is always on point. The schnitzel is also nowhere tastier. Our favorite restaurant, with great service and a very cozy inviting atmosphere.
