Route 14 is a small, "rock n' roll" themed diner & pub in downtown Sooke, BC.We've now been there several times, and have been extremely pleased every time! It has become our "go-to" dinner place in Sooke, and a great place to take friends to "show off" our eating choices. The food is outstanding (they do a fish & chips to die for!!), and the staff is consistently outgoing, friendly, helpful, and very efficient.Beverages-wise, they have a good selection of draft & craft beers, and their Caesars are amazing.Prices are VERY reasonable (for us, cheaper than going to the A&W for burgers!).What more can I say? Try it...you'll love it!

Although my family went in after a bunch of fighting, the server was really good and the food very tasty. The curry was spicier than I could handle but I think that's my fault for ordering a curry. It was busy but our water was always filled and everything was ok. The blueberry basil and mango orange sorbets are both vegan, but make sure you ask, because there's a sauce they put on it that isn't. They are very pretty and so so so tasty. Our server knew what was vegan and what wasn't and double checked with the chef every time without me even asking her to.

If you are staying in the area or just passing through, be sure to check out Route 14 on the main road through Sooke, BC. Don't mistake this place as just another ordinary pub with ordinary pub food. We were pleasantly surprised with the selection of meals and the presentation of the plates was something you would normally only see in a much higher end restaurant. The Selection of wine was a treat for being a pub. Can't say enough about the friendly and fun staff members or their service. P.S. The crab cakes were delicious.

This place was hopping when we went, and it's easy to see why: the food is fabulous. It's pretty small, with a bar and sports TV, and we had a short wait, but service was friendly and helpful. We started with absolutely fresh oysters. Sous vide lamb was perfectly cooked, with lots of veggies and potatoes - more than enough, really. And the salmon two ways (including smoked salmon) was equally delicious. The menu includes lots of lighter options, but for serious eaters this has to be a top local option. Book a table now

I tried ordering a veggie burger and asked if there was milk in the bun. They didn't know, but to their credit, they said that they would find out and put it on their to-do list. They did offer a lettuce wrap for the burger, but I didn't feel like that. They were able to make me a vegan salad. But other than that, they're really want much in the menu. The waitress didn't seem to know much about what might be vegan. She was nice though.

Server double checked with the chefs what dressings were vegan. We went for the Avocado Hummus and pita chips, a bowl of fries and the Kale Beet salad with no cheese and subbed in Sun-dried tomato vinaigrette (Greek dressing was also vegan). Was sad to see the veggie burger wasn’t able to be made vegan.

The service is great, the server was apologetic there weren’t many vegan options. There is egg in the veggie patty so it’s a no-go for vegans. We ordered the beet salad (pretty much the only other option besides a side of fries) which has honey in the vinaigrette if that’s an issue for you.

Busy when we went, but late arrival meant a table for 6 could be accommodated. Food was of a high standard, mojito chicken was different and adventurous without failing on taste and quality. Children were very well looked after. Good value for the quality of food. Book a table now

Had a fantastic lunch here. It's a very friendly place with some very upscale food choices. BF had an amazing burger and I had the beetroot salad. Friendly staff, good service. I plan on returning to try more menu items.
