Great little restaurant... Is an understatement. If you blink you would miss this inviting little piece of the Bayou. The food is delicious and the service is outstanding. As soon as you walk into the establishment you are treated with a smile and are attended right away. Would recommend the gator and a nice little zombie to warm you right up! Try out the restaurant, the owners are amazing and bar staff is talented. Don’t miss out the desert. Try a little of everything. Just make sure your hungry as you will get half way in and not be able to enjoy the dessert menu.
My husband is originally from New Orleans, so we're always on the lookout for restaurants that serve authentic New Orleans cuisine. I discovered Rue on Yelp and reached out to the restaurant to express my interest. I was very impressed by Patrick, the manager. We dined there last night, and the food was the closest to New Orleans that I've had in Illinois. It's not part of a large chain like Pappadeaux; instead, it's a charming, small restaurant located on Main Street. We definitely plan to return!
This is the best Cajun/Creole food I've had outside of New Orleans. The staff is friendly and really knows the menu. The only thing this place needs to complete the New Orleans experience is a Mango Mango next door and about twenty college kids hanging out on the patio! I highly recommend it. The Gumbo and Red Beans and Rice are spectacular and won't disappoint. Be sure to pair your meal with a nice, cold Abita Amber.
Excellent little New Orleans restaurant downtown Glen Ellyn. Coleslaw was light and refreshing, hush puppies were crispy, Jambalaya was fantastic with just the right kick. Prices are a bit high but the portions are worth it. Our server Niel was great.. Very quick and attentive.

My new favorite New Orleans Cajun style authentic cuisine. Hands down the best shrimp and grits I have ever had. No wonder they call this place Rue, best flavorful rue I've experienced. I can't wait to come here again and try all their other delicious plates!
Excellent Cajun spot in downtown Glen Ellyn. High quality kitchen and drinks, but a casual atmosphere - no need to dress up. Daily specials if you are looking for a few dollars, but the portions are excellent, so it is worth the price.
