I’ve been going to this deli since I was a kid. As a life-long resident of saddle river, I’ve seen ownership change hands three times in my life. In a small town without many businesses, I’m grateful for the consistent quality of food and service of this establishment. All of the staff are friendly, the food is prepared well and priced appropriately. In a world of corporate franchises, I still appreciate the hard working mom and pop businesses that deliver a higher level of quality and service than their competitors. Chicken cutlet sandwich is the best around!
George from Saddle River Deli catered a memorial event for my family’s grandfather. At every step of the process George was kind, accommodating, communicative and thorough. Each dish was delicious, everyone at the event commented on how great everything tasted. He went above and beyond helping our family out with the event as we had several changes throughout the process due to unexpected closures and cancellations with where we needed the food delivered. Highly recommend!
I absolutely love it here! The Saddle River Deli is a small, family owned business. Carol and George are always accommodating and efficiently. I highly recommend their macaroni salad as well as their chicken cutlet sandwhich. Their menu is very reasonably priced. It does get a little busy at lunch time (which is a good sign) so I would recommend calling ahead for your order.
The wraps and sandwiches at this restaurant are consistently delicious, offering a variety of choices such as teriyaki chicken, Cuban panini, chicken cutlet, and chicken parmesan, along with some delightful cookies! The service is consistently friendly and welcoming.

I ordered two cups of coffee and left a $5 tip, but they told me not to worry about it. Was that amount not sufficient? Additionally, when I arrived early in the morning, it felt like more of a hangout for the regulars, making it difficult to feel welcome.
A fantastic taste of Americana! This deli captures the essence of the classic NY/NJ experience. It features a welcoming, "Cheers"-style environment where locals gather each morning. I highly recommend paying a visit!
The weekend brunch offerings are absolutely delicious! This cozy spot features very attentive staff who make sure everything is just right. I really wish I could take some extra Old Bay fries home with me!

Chicken cutlet on a round bread. Amazing food, chicken has a great crunch. Fries were also amazing. Owner gave me the warmest experience I’ve ever been to a deli.
