I have experienced this situation too many times over the years and usually choose to overlook it, but today's incident was too obvious to ignore. Last week I purchased a rotisserie chicken that was advertised for the Friday special price of $5.00, when I got home I noticed that I was charged $8.99. I drove back to the Alamo store for a refund of $3.99. The customer service agent told me that several people had complained about the same thing (perhaps she should have notified management of this problem). I recently had a very negative experience at Safeway when I was overcharged for tax on a bottle of tequila. Despite the official sales tax rate being 8.75%, I was charged 14.27% tax on my purchase. Additionally, I had a coupon for $5 off, which was not applied correctly by the checker at first. When I brought this to the attention of an employee at the service desk, she was unhelpful and even became abusive towards me. This behavior was completely unacceptable and makes me question Safeway's customer service standards. I believe it's important for other shoppers to be aware of these issues and make informed decisions about where they choose to spend their money.
This is probably the nicest Safeway ive ever been to. They have such a big selection of everything including ready made food. The sushi is surprisingly pretty good for Safeway sushi. The spicy crunchy tempura roll is my goto. I also didnt realize they had chinese food. I finally gave it a try this past week because my coworker mentioned it to me. If im being honest, I definitely prefer their chinese food over the chinese restaurant in the plaza. I got the the chow mein, mandarin chicken and broccoli beef. They were all pretty good. The cooks are also very nice.

The Safeway Bakery is a reliable choice for typical bakery items with a decent selection of the usual goods and essentials. However, I strongly advise against ordering a cake or any of their special items. If it's not on display, do not bother ordering it. The cake we ordered was disappointingly terrible, with unappealing decoration and poorly executed writing. The cake itself was dry, stale, and overall unpleasant. I would only give it 3 stars for the regular bakery items and 1 star for the quality of ordered items.
Absolutely loved this Safeway, all the workers were amazing except one lady. She treated me like absolute garbage when I asked a question. She was old and blonde. Honestly just flat out rude and embarrassed me in front of my husbands sister. The quality of the items are amazing and mostly everyone is nice and the place is relatively clean. I just hope you guys check your workers or at least hire the nice ones. You can't be mean and ugly at the same time
Buyer beware! The last 3 times, they have tried to overcharge me. I have talked with the manager, who says he hears this frequently, but nothing is done about it. Something is really wrong with the system, and maybe some of the tellers are dishonest. I reported this to corporate. I don't plan to visit again.
Once again the Safeway Alamo store has raised the price of wine far and above the competition. I asked the wine stocker about the price increase of Frank Chard and got a blank look and I don 't know . Total Wine has it for 6$ less a bottle and free shipping.

I love this Safeway. I make a weekly pilgrimage here. Produce and meat departments are solid. The bakery can have its challenges which is why we tend to get these foods elsewhere. Case in point: our hollow pie this evening.
Safeway is an easy place to shop. It has everything needed. the deli has good selection for sandwiches. i shop at Safeway all the time. At least 3 days per week.
