I blame myself. I should have read the recent reviews before booking it for my daughter’s birthday meal. We were a party of eight (including three children but from start to finish there were a catalogue of errors and absurdity. 1. Unlike previous complainents we were NEVER told this hotel has a 2 hour eating window despite booking in advance. So imagine our surprise when, 2 hours in, just as we were starting to receive starters, the female waiter manager started to blame us for ‘overstaying’. 2. We live near Syston and as locals know, there are many Indian restaurants in this small town. After trying them all, we have found Safron Ivy to be the best. The service was amazing, the food was delicious, and they had curry awards displayed throughout the restaurant. However, we were disappointed to see that the menu had changed and all the awards certificates were gone after a change in ownership. We ordered takeaway, but half of our order was incorrect. Booked the table for 6:30pm for 14 people and ordered straight away. On the phone we were told we had a 2 hour dining window which was fair enough. However when we ordered Our starters didn’t arrive until 8:15pm. As a result they lost another booking for 6 people despite us rearranging our party by giving them a table. We paid £350 and after securing our payment the rude manager (female) ruined our special occasion by blamed us for the loss of the booking by overrunning our booking window used some extremely crass rude language to describe us. Group of 14 people attended a special birthday party with young children. When leaving, the restaurant lost a table of 7, which was actually seated at the time they then had the audacity to blame us for overstaying (unrealistic time slot of 2hr). The waitress or manager (young female staff member) then approached me and said, IT 'S TAKING THE ****.... . This language was spoken in front of my 10yr child and 6yr son who was stood right next to them. This anguage should NEVER be used in front of children or towards customers. During the meal at no point did the restaurant express a need to leave early, added to the fact that the food came late which likely caused the delay. Avoid this restaura... Book a table now

Took my mum to Saffron Ivy for her 80th birthday on 10/03/2023 at her request as she has not been to an Indian restaurant for some time. She absolutely loved the food the friendly atmosphere. We use them on a regular basis for takeaways and have to say that the food is by far the best in Syston (and we have a few) the only problem was that it was extremely noisey but that was not the fault of the restaurant, it is a small place and can soon get full hence the noise so need to be mindful of that if booking a large party.

Awful customer service. Do not know how to treat paying customers. Awful time management and blame us for their poor time management to manage our food order. ask us leave with foul language after taking our big payment. Avoid please. Not a pleasant experience at all for our party of 14 with small children. it’s restaurant job to time keeping and keep food coming on the table on time instead they guys want to blame customer for their poor customer service..awful.

Very poor service mad management of time and a waitress with a chip on her shoulder. Very disappointed with the waitress today who took 350£ plus custom then told us ‘not to take the **** in future’. In front of our party which consisted of small children. It is not the customers fault if the food is not able to be delivered to our table within the specified time frame. Appalling and cheap service. Looking forward to an apology

We used to frequently order takeout from this place, as it was the best in the area. However, when we ordered for pick-up today, we noticed it was under new management. Unfortunately, all the food we received was inedible and ended up in the trash. To make matters worse, they have also increased their prices. We will not be coming back. Book a table now

The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious, the place is clean and beautiful, and the staff were very pleasant. No one can compare to the quality of their food. Well done!
