The seating is quite tight in the main dining area, making it difficult for wheelchair access, while there are booths located along the back wall. The decor seems a bit neglected, but there are TVs available to keep you entertained while you wait for your meal.
We were seated immediately, likely just before the dinner rush, as there were several parties waiting at the door soon after. I felt bad for those guests, as there wasn't a waiting area available.

No way.” Boy was I wrong!The place was packed with people and the inside waiting area was filling up. Since we were hungry, we decided to sit at the bar. There, we watched them hand make all the rolls and other orders. It was nice to see that they hand cut the fish rather than reach into a container of precut stuff.I ordered the Green Devil, my wife ordered the Philadelphia and we shared the Sakura. When we got our order, the packaging was a mess. Although they included some sauces in a bag to prevent spills, they neglected to bag five of them, which caused them to leak all over our food. It’s baffling that they package hot items alongside cold sushi. When I called to address the issue, the staff was exceptionally rude. Whenever I've inquired about the delays, I've been told it was due to one of the cooks quitting.
Spending $89 on such poor quality food and service, along with receiving a small amount of food, is absolutely unacceptable. We likely won't return.
It's great to see a Japanese restaurant open up in Livingston! We ordered bento boxes to celebrate my daughter's birthday, and they were enjoyable. However, I was let down by my scallops, which were rubbery and tough to chew. Additionally, two patrons nearby spent a significant amount of time speaking on their phones on speaker, mostly with scam callers and telemarketers. It was quite disruptive and made it hard for us to enjoy our meal. It would be appreciated if management could address situations like this in the future.

Overall, Sakura is a solid choice, though not exceptional. It's definitely the best option for Asian cuisine in Livingston. The food is quite good, and the portion sizes are reasonable for the price. The staff is friendly and attentive, even during busy times. My only issue is that they serve their tempura dipping sauce ice cold, which makes the otherwise excellent tempura taste overly greasy.
I’ve tried cooked sushi before, but I was hesitant about eating it raw. Our friends took us to Sakura for dinner, and it was absolutely perfect! The food was outstanding, the restaurant spotless, and the staff attentive without being intrusive. I highly recommend it!
The food was wonderful! The service was great! The place was small which was a little uncomfortable but there are not many choices of location in such a small town. I definitely recommend this as a great place to stop for a great meal.Food: 5/5
The air conditioning struggled to keep up with the heat, making it quite warm inside. However, the food was good, although it could have been a bit more tender. The waitstaff were very friendly. Overall, I would rate the food a 4 out of 5.

This is my favorite spot whenever I'm home. I've traveled extensively and tried sushi restaurants throughout the contiguous U.S., but this place is by far the best. I could eat here daily and never get tired of the food! Food: 5/5
