Ok... so I 've wanted to try this place for a while now, years actually. But, it always seemed empty... I finally went there... and now I know why! The food kinda sucks and the service (Owner operated and staffed is even worse! The menu items are overpriced and the value is as defined as the food... it sucks too! Also, they try to make the place seem exclusive in defining their requirements for reservations. There wasn 't a single patron in the restaurant. And, they make it almost impossible to get into the dining room, the restaurant was open but, there wasn 't an open door... just weird! The place is nice! Food was ok, but way too expensive. I would say 2x vs other sushi places. We have a family of 4, normally it will cost us about $250, but here it costed us $450. You can always tell if it will be a good sushi place based on the quality of their rice and how well they deep fry. Very disappointing. Rice was well over crooked and too watery. There was no texture to the rice. And way too much vinegar. We ordered the agedashi-tofu. There should be a crispy yet chewy texture to the batter, it was only crispy. They should consider adding some corn starch to the batter. My wife said we will never go back. So many other places that are better.

I haven't been to Sakura since they were in the old location. Finally came in and the food taste even better than I remember. I still don't understand the reservations to sit inside, there is a whole process but once your in you are in a clean and spacious restaurant. The ribeye was super delicious and the salad OMG super great. The popcorn edamame was also a good twist on it. It's fried in tempura batter. I'd come back.
