This c.12 restaurant chain is unique to Winnipeg. In operation since 1931, and much more familiarly known just as Sal 's, the menu has its own vocabulary. No other place in Canada would remotely know what a nip is, but for Winnipeggers it means a Sal 's hamburger! Other food specialties on the menu are the Winni (hot Dog and loose leaf teas. I was impressed with this particular Salisbury House's adherence to the Manitoba Government Covid Operation Rules. I found my first breakfast out of my home since March 12th to be a pleasant, comfortable experience and the breakfasts were outstanding. The Service was also excellent. All in all, if you are nervous about eating in a restaurant, try this location to qualm your fears. The only disappointment was that the stuffed toy claw machine was not operating. I even brought a disposable glove. :o(
Ordered Kickin Chicken....took a little longer than expected HOWEVER, the front staff were personable and the young man who brought the order out (I'm going to assume it was the cook) made up for it! Very hospitable, professional and the food was fresh! This is the 2nd time ordering in the last week (which is not usual for us) and I would definitely recommend it!
First time there in 3 years.Everyone was so friendly even the other customers,I think we were all happy to be out. The staff friendly professional and food was great! The coupons were an added bonus as it was an affordable time out. Would highly recommend Salsbury House on Leila.

We stopped in this morning for breakfast, and our server Jay was superb. He greeted us with a smile, and our food was on the table in minutes. Things were busy, but he checked in with us, topped up coffee, and was a total pro from start to finish. Give this man a raise!
went there late at night and bought a burger and told the guy that i dont eat pork, and he said got you. when arrived home ready to eat and bacon there. so disappointing from the guy who worked on Wednesday 02:00 am. the dude feeding customers what they dont eat.
Food was made perfectly. Salisbury house is one of the few restaurants that manage to maintain consistent food preparation and quality. Our server was very attentive and processed our orders correctly

I visit here every couple months or so, and have yet to be disappointedIt is officially a "Sals Express" so there is no official table service.
The food was great and the server was even better and I'm pretty sure her name was Jane she was a really nice lady
