We went on Valentine's Day and both my wife and I were disappointed. First, our waitress was great. No complaints with her. Second, the special dessert they had was a brownie with ice cream and a pastry on top. My wife couldn't stop raving about it even though the brownie, IMO, was really dense and hard. Third, my wife doesn't like oysters, and the restaurant was kind enough to substitute a shrimp course instead. Unfortunately, those were the only good things in our opinion. We selected Sam and Harry's as a Valentines treat for us. We live in Schaumburg, so we know all the chains and what they have to offer. We tried this place as something different we don't usually choose. Overall, the hotel and restaurant felt as if we were swept away on a vacation. There was a girls dance competition going on, but just made the atmosphere more lively. The restaurant had patrons but was not overly busy. We were greeted in a friendly manner and seated quickly. The service was abysmal. They kept blaming a big party that came in but the restaurant was only half full. It took forever for everything order, drinks, appetizers, dinner even to get water. The staff was half apologetic but never offered to accommodate us in any way. The food was very good but with that service we would never go back. It was a Saturday night if you aren't prepared for unexpected crowds then you never will be.
for the second year in order with the lunch menu and the service interrupted during the ILASCD conference. They used to have a great lunch menu and it has not been the case for two years. we will not go back next year.

Great food and services, first time there and we will be back. I had the salmon and it was excellent, and rest of table had red meat and loved everything they had. Good drinks and cheese crips as well!
Kelly is the best waitress in this establishment! I highly recommend trying the short rib, halibut and grass feed rib eye.
