DISCLAIMER: This review is strictly about the family platter that is served by Sami 's Kabab House. There are lots of complaints about this from other reviewers. Proceed with caution. Background: I am a frequent visitor of Sami 's and have been coming here since they 've been a hole in the wall and have been here over 10+ times. TLDR: Avoid the family platter at all costs it is their biggest money maker at YOUR expense. If you 're interested in learning why, which I hope you do, please see below. It will save you lots of money. I came to the restaurant on 12/26 around 930p with 12 people. I 've ordered the family platter a few times from Sami 's and have noticed they always add stuff we don...

This neighborhood restaurant is excellent. The owner, Sami, is very friendly, welcoming, and professional. I had a small issue with my bill, but he quickly fixed it. The waitstaff was also helpful and had a great sense of humor. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. I ordered mixed meat and vegetarian platters, Borani, mantu dumplings, salad, and firnee for two. Every time I visit the city, I always make sure to dine at this restaurant with my friends. It's my favorite Afghan restaurant, and I have tried several others in Manhattan, Long Island, and other cities. The restaurant has a 20% service charge, which I think is fair considering the high quality of the food and servi...

Usually order from the LIC location but this location was a major disappointment. The chicken looked like day or two old reheated chicken. It wasnt the color it should have been. Do not order from this location. Even the other location is hit and miss. They need better quality control and consistency.

1st time having Afghani food and it didn't disappoint. We went for lunch and the entire group loved their dishes. Got the Afghani chicken thigh kebab and loved it. They also gave us a free salad and dessert which was an unexpected, nice surprise. Highly recommend!! Book a table now

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious, the ambiance was pleasant, and the prices were very reasonable considering the portion size and quality of the dishes.

For someone who’s never had Afghan food this place was delicious. We ordered the multi kebab platter and the beef chicken and lamb were perfect. It’s BYOB too. Wry reasonably priced as well.
