If you’re over 60 and have fond memories of Sanders Ice Cream and lunch counter, you might want to temper your expectations—you may be disappointed. While the service was attentive and the cream puff delicious, the plastic spoon struggled to cut through the puff pastry. The atmosphere? Nonexistent. The candy selection was minimal, and there was an abundance of hot fudge for sale, much like what you’d find at Kroger. I understand, though—many parents seem indifferent to their children’s behavior, and it seems that a lot of folks don’t view stealing as wrong. So, if you’re in search of a classic Sanders Ice Cream and candy counter experience, you should keep looking.
I want to give a HUGE shout out to the (owner manager) last night 6 2 2022!!! My husband and I were in a mad dash to make it to the store on time to purchase a Bumpy Cake for my Father-in-law's Birthday when of course, we were stopped by a train!! Ugh, so we called and when I explained to the owner we were in route, but would be arriving just a few moments after closing, he told us not to worry and that he would wait for us!! He saved the day for our Birthday Boy!!! Thank you!!!
Very good! VERY clean! The owner really takes pride in their buisness!! The staff is very nice worth a nice tip! The best ice cream! A nice place to visit! I wish the hours where an hour later like 10:00 pm. or at least a half hour later 9:30....especially on week ends! We can't get there before 9pm...Such a nice lovely place to relax!?
The bumpy cake sundae is absolutely amazing! The service is top-notch, and the place is impeccably clean. They also offer a variety of cakes, fudge, and delicious candies. If you're in Wyandotte, this historical spot is a must-visit!

This place is never open. Closes early, isn’t open half of the days of the week which makes it difficult to ever even get the opportunity to get ice cream.
Very polite and helpful owner. AMAZING ice cream. Especially recommend their cream puff ice cream with chocolate drizzle!
I've been coming here since the 70's, my all time favorite hot fudge sundae hands down. And you can eat inside again
The staff at this restaurant were very friendly. I stopped in to grab a Caramel Bumpy Cake, and it was excellent!
