We wanted to go to a concert in the church next door, and warned them of this, which was to begin 1hour 40 minutes latert. Service was incredibly slow, and off hand, food indifferent. There was no time for the pudding we had ordered, but had to pay for it. We complained. As we passed the door to the kitchens, the chef came out and told me I was an imbecile ..etc etc. Never had such rudeness before

We would not have had time to eat our dessert, and so complained about this as we were paying. After we had left the restaurant the chef emerged from his kitchen, a large man, and was incredibly insulting to me in particular, as I speak more french than my husband.
