During a work trip. I stayed in the Hilton opposite this pub and hearing it was the oldest in the city I decided to stop in. The staff were great and very helpful in recommending craft beers they had on tap. The food was also very good and I really enjoyed the steak and ale pie with chips. If you like ales and decent pub food, this is the place. I’ll definitely be back if I’m in Bath.
Nice little pub to relax in, from the busy streets of Bath. The usual pub grub on offer, nice quality and plenty of draught to choose from. I noticed there were a lot of screens to watch sports on. Toilets are good and easy to find. This pub does accept contactless payments. No parking outside but there is plenty around to choose from.
great pub. the oldest pub in bath! we saw the sign that it was the oldest pub and that made us go in. at the arrival we saw the charles thickens corner and was pleased that charles began to write in this pub! amazing. worth visiting when they are in bath. Pool table there also. nice and clean, friendly staff.

Last minute luncheon during Christmas Market visit, very pleased able to get a table! Food good, service surprisingly fast, menu intact with some seasonal additions. Pleasant surprise over the Holidays, as all other GKs I’ve been to recently seemed to have become rubbish. Thanks!

large pub with central bar and four seats. one area has a large screen for sport, many other tvs throughout. good drink selection and service. atmosphere friendly and understand the oldest pub in bath. many interesting pictures and information
beautiful traditional pub with a great atmosphere for the rugby. Bar staff were friendly (jordan was especially helpful) inviting and eating was also top-notch! will definitely visit again in summer! Book a table now
really everything was amazing, I came by to have a more catchy one that I end up eating the best fish and chips. the bartender was really nice and generous. highly recommended, cheeers
