We were hosting friends from out of town for a special occasion, We had a party of 8 and asked to be seated outside and was denied a table outside even though there were multiple tables available. Sever was very inexperienced and did not have knowledge of menu or steps of service and did not know how to open a bottle of wine without placing it on the table to pull out the cork, nor did she have the knowledge of the wine she was selling. We had to take extra set ups and share plates from empty table beside us when our appetizers arrived because nobody was around to ask, and some appetizers never arrived. We were seated promptly at a nice table. Not to crowded at this point. Greeted by our server and ordered drinks. Looked at menu , drinks arrived and ordered appetizers/salad. My app was calamari and was delivered-to the table well before my wife’s salad arrived. We then reminded our server that we had not ordered our dinner and she took the order. I also asked if she could bring the bread she promised. My wife was eating her salad when my entree arrived shortly after ordering. It was ten minutes later her entree arrived, while still eating her salad. The whole dining experience was disconcerting as the timing of our food delivery was so out of order and rushed. Sardella’s is a good restaurant that’s been serving for several years. The atmosphere is great. The staff are great. The food is average at best. I ordered pasta with Bolognese sauce. I sincerely could have made it better myself (I’m a decent cook and maybe this slants my review). My wife is required to eat gluten free and they were out of GF pasta. She was looking forward to an Italian meal, but ordered sirloin steak. Her steak was pretty good but not as good as what we would have had at a steak house. Overall, Sardella’s is worth the experience but the food is not as good as what we might find elsewhere in Rhode Island.
This was our first time at Sardellas Restaurant I was celebrating a very special Birthday Sardellas was highly recommended by the hotel we were staying at We were not impressed with the dishes we had ordered We had ordered two pasta dishes There was very little spaghetti and a lot of sauce So disappointed We ordered a salad with shrimp and eggplant both were fair at best Not a good first impression Unfortunately

This is one restaurant where we didnt have bad service we had NO service! The waitress took our order and that was the end....couldnt get tableware to eat with, couldnt get a 2nd glass of wine, couldnt get coffee and couldnt get the check The place was awful!!!
It was our first visit to Sardellas and it was a wonderful experience!! Our server Will was outstanding and welcoming. Our food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Thank you Sardellas- we can’t wait to return!!!
