Mit den Tipps aus "Die Köche" gehe ich eigentlich nie fehl und ein Besuch im Schachener Hof war schon lange auf meiner Wunschliste. Leider ist es mit den Öffnungszeiten bei vielen der Lokale nur abends möglich seinen Gaumenfreuden zu frönen. Sonntagmittag öffnet der Schachener Hof ab 12h zu meiner großen Freude und so war es endlich soweit bei herrlichem Wetter einmal mit dem Fahrrad vorbeizuschauen und das Gourmetrestaurant kennenzulernen. Ein kleiner Tisch im Schatten bot sich bei Temperaturen um die 30 Grad geradezu an. Freundlich empfangen staunte ich nicht schlecht über die Auswahl und die zwei Menüvorschläge. This lovely restaurant is slightly out of the way, about a ten minute drive from the centre of Lindau. There is a garden at the front in which one can eat in fine weather: it was a perfect evening last night when we were there....Although the menu is only in German, the staff were delightfully friendly and helpful, and together we worked our everything we needed to know. We opted for the tasting menu. It was well-designed and beautifully paced. We had the whole evening for dinner, and the meal spanned four hours! The family who own this small hotel are delightful to say the least. The rooms are lovely and clean, the beds are comfortable and not rock hard (which most hotels Europe seem to be). Even more amazing is how reasonable the room prices are, given...the high standard of accommodation. The breakfast is plentiful and very tasty as well. We have had dinner in the restaurant many times now and each time it has been excellent. Thomas owns this delightful hotel and also happens to be the most creative chef. He has won many awards for his food and we love eating here so much that we are now regular visitors. We highly recommend this hotel and restaurant- you won’t be disappointed!
Very nice BIB Michelin Pitch, we've been couples and booked a table for We had to choose between menues, but the kitchen was very flexible in Terms of main course side dishes. We had Turbot after a nice entree and Marillencakes....Both very fine, Wine-list serves a nice variety of german and european regions, which fit the menue quite good. Perfect start for the evening. Interior ? you can't disuss Taste says my mom, so if you Count on Food, the interior design is....let's call it classy :

Wir waren zu einer Familienfestlichkeit im Schachener Hof, wurden überaus freundlich empfangen und bedient. Selbst das vorab bestellte Menue wurde vor Ort noch freundlicherweise abgeändert. Die Qualität der Speisen war super und sehr schön angerichtet. Preis-Leistung stimmt. Wir haben den lauen Abend auf der Gartenterrasse sehr genossen, die Krönung eines langen Ausflugstages, einfach top.
The place does not look like a gourmet temple, but looks can deceive.. We had a course tasting menu for Euro with nice variations and choices of flavors. Food was well presented and just the right amount. Service was tops, probably the best...I have experienced in Lindau! Recommendable place to eat fine dining for a reasonable price!
The service is very friendly, attentive, but still unintrusive. The food is delicious, regional cuisine at its bests, the menu has some signature dishes, but there is also always something new to discover. The atmosphere is relaxed, but correct.
warm folks, delicious meals, and the environment/room simply feels great! in a quieter part of town, which was very nice change, also. we cancelled at a star to return the next night.

Met friends at the HOF. Food, refreshments and service very well received. Presentation was exceptional. Sadly a very short stay but would recommend.
