I am always going to remember the Salatplatte Marché. It's one of the best salads I have ever had. The dressing and the mix of ingredients, the veggies, the boiled eggs it all came together beautifully. The salads in the Black Forest area are...different in style to what I have had in other countries. Absolutely loved it. I also had the egg noodles. The service can be slow, they are quite busy and seem to have limited staff. Also, their staff don't all understand English. But if you are patient, it's all good. This was our second holiday in Gengenbach and again we dined at Schatull nearly every night. There are other excellent restaurants in Gengenbach but none come close to the value, atmosphere, service and great food in Schatull. Indoor and outdoor tables. Good range of beer,...wine and spirits too. Naturally, we spoke German as much as we could but they even have an English menu and the helpful staff speak enough English to help out
For a cola wine and a winery toast okay. Skin cousins and great quality when eating are better looking elsewhere. In addition, sometimes precarious conditions in the sanitary area, supposedly this is related to garbage cans in the environment. Some slightly overwhelmed to partially unfriendly services, making the longer stay unpleasant.
Good bourgeois food at good prices. The Schatull is located in the centre of the historic old town of Gengenbach. Parking is available nearby. You sit inside and outside very nice. There is a second floor where you can also host. We like to come here.

Loved it here. Very nicely decorated inside and pleasant staff. They have an English menu which is useful instead of relying on google translate. Food arrived after a short wait and was delicious with generous portions. Very well priced too
