This is an old family restaurant near Gerlingen, outskirts of Stuttgart, and the Solitude castle, in the past a summer residence of the local Duke Carl Eugen. In the past, a family of the famous German poet Schiller lived nearby. This is a beautiful romantic area for a walk in the park and forest, there are also 3 large forest lakes. The food is traditionally Swedish, very tasty and best quality, as well as a good selection of local wines. The staff is very friendly, highly recommended!

We went there to have white spargel (asparagus and we were not dissapointed. The tasty white asparagus in hollandaise sauce was value for money. You can also try soups which are also very yummy. Also try deserts which are quite interesting. Note: Restraint us bit pricey. But the quantity served is pretty good.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner last weekend. The menu is fairly extensive and I am sure even the pickiest of eaters would find something on the menu. Loved the spicy shrimp appetizer. Next visit I may order a soup as starter and the spicy shrimp as a main, since it is a big serving. Service is attentive, friendly and helpful. All around a good experience. More family oriented than romantic dinner. Quite casual. Book a table now
My brother used to play in a band that performed in this restaurant on weekends about 50 years ago. it was the typical dance trio and he played the bass. I went there as a teenager one time with him and now I returned after almost 50 years. It is still run by the same family since 1928.There is no more dancing but the food is still very good. It is a favorite place for weekend visitors and meetings, weddings etc.
We visited this restaurant after a long break and found it even better! The classic German food was excellent (circular fish, asparagus, rumsteak and lamb), local wines are also served in a wide selection, deserts and cakes are great. Service is always excellent. The restaurant is located near Solitude Castle, the old summer residence of the local Duke Eugen, with park, forest and even lakes (in a few km walk).
This is a nice and small Hotel-Restaurant in Gerlingen, nearby Solitude Castle, close to Stuttgart. This place is close to a family house of Schiller, famous German poet. It is located in a very green and silent place, nearby park-forest surrounding the Solitude Castle,a summer residence of a local herzog. The food is excellent, with Bavarian flavor, service as well, you will really enjoy it!!
Nice enough restaurant, service friendly, popular, but menu is a little average, and had very few innovative and light options, especially few options without meat. That's ok, but it just isn't that great for contemporary food and dining, especially not with a family. Book a table now
