Schlappen has a wonderful local feel. Monday night, yet still full of people- seems like mix of locals and students.Waitress spoke English, & English menu available. When previous reviews said big serves, they meant big serves. We tried the Turkey & the Lamb, with the mixed salad. It was all huge. Lamb was fantastic and the creamy dipping sauce which I think had prairies was stunning. Turkey was lovely, but as with most Breast meat it could be a little dry.Fried potato discs were great, although too much. Beer was nice but if you are a whisky drinker the whisky menu is very extensive.Doesn't take credit card, but easily broke a €100.Toilets are interesting.... must see
We were told about the interesting set up in the bathrooms and they didn't disappoint. The men's room was a very interesting experience! We stayed for drinks and were recommended a few things to try. They have a large selection of worldly whiskeys. We also trying Absinth and if you have never had it it's a good place to. The over atmosphere was good and very busy, but drinks came out quick. There is seating both inside and outside. We sat at a big table just inside the door, which was great for people watching.
Disappointed after having read the critics. We ordered something between a flammekueche and a pizza (pizza for them) small-medium size, a good but a bit cold flammekueche and the most expensive glass of water I have ever drunk (2.80-0.4L) bottle or tap. According to the waitress explanations, it wasnt even the most expensive water they had. in any case i will not go back to prove it. The fried carember was delicious tho!
I'd gone in for a late light bite. They serve until 11pm. I had the 'Potato Schlappen'; fried potatoes with a pot of Bolognese sauce and a pot of garlic dip. The portion was huge! It would make a good sharing snack for two! Prices of good and beer were very reasonable. The staff were friendly and helpful. I'd recommend this as a good Pub Grub type venue.

Able to sit outside on a lovely night. Watch the people go by. Nice and central and one of the few places we could get into. Food average but waitress very obliging and got us a seat outside
Really enjoyed a great dinner here. We managed to get a seat quickly and I ordered Flammkuchen and my partner had turkey steak and fried potatoes. Great service - including an English menu.
we had dinner here in this place, asked for a starter but the starter was served together with the main dish. Overall food quality is ok, the steak could have been done better
we came here with a couple friends for one drink during a bachelor party. they refused to serve us drinks despite being still pretty sober. not ok
