Location is beautiful, but the chef must have been having a bad day.The Grösti, Fried potatoes with Sunnyside up egg on top was very dry, tasteless and instead of mixed Bacon bits according to the menu, it was shredded beef. The Kaiseshaum was also dry, tasteless, overcooked, tasted like it came out of a box, definitely homemade. All portions were small, that's OK. My guests neither said good or bad about their dishes. They raved earlier about how good the Austrian food they've had so far, this time they were quiet. This has always been a lovely place for a drink - very traditional inside and great views outside, but the food used to be dire. I don't know if it's changed owners, but we had lunch here the other day, and it was really good. We only had snacks, so I can't vouch for it as a dinner venue, but they were all delicious - excellent home-made bread and very tasty local ham and cheese. It's also very dog and child-friendly and perfectly positioned for lots of lovely walks.

From all restaurants visited on ski piste, this one is the best I can find and I strongly recommend it. They have a very good tomato soup, garlic soup and goulash soup and also they have the best "apfelstudel mit vannila sauce".It worth to ride up to the restaurans and rest there during lunch. The prices are also very good. ( 5 E for soup and 4.5 for apfelstroudel)

This review is not about the food or service (we didn't actually make it to the restaurant,) but a warning about accessibility. We had reservations at Schober Alm, but after several kilometers up the steep, narrow, windy, un-guard-railed, unplowed road to the restaurant, we had to turn around because our car wasn't going to make it. Better luck in the summer time!
