If you wanting to hang out with the locals and get some good local food then this is a good spot! When I arrived it was full so went for a walk around the block and came back to have a beer while waiting for...a table. Quite quickly I was offered a table to share with a couple which worked just fine. The beer was good and there was a selection to choose from. The menu is traditional local food mainly German pancakes, salad, soup and meals with fried potatoes. I have a Munich style schnitzel which was excellent with some tasty horse-radish coating. The portion size also generous. Service was excellent with staff going out of their way and lots of friendly smiles. An English version of the men...
The focus here is on traditional German food; my pork in a creamy mushroom sauce was superb. The portions are huge I enjoyed what was possibly the largest as well as the most delicious side-salad I have ever been served. The menus are rather...quaint typed into notebooks. Mine wasn’t translated, however the staff speak English. The drinks service was on the slow side, but the beer was certainly worth the wait; the dunkel, served in a humpen, was my favorite. Reservations are strongly recommended; this restaurant is very popular with the locals, for good reason.
restaurant should not be listed as gluten-free. they have no special gluten-free eating. they are like any restaurant and offer 3-4 "from natural gluten-free" items. I was very disappointed to make a special trip there to try their gluten-free menu, just to learn that they do nothing special after making it clear to me that gluten flour is. Apart from all the non-glue-free thing, it is a sweet restaurant with an intimate garden outdoors. it's a place to go to the locals. I had the bratkartoffels and cheese (one of the 4 options) and it was very nice.

This restaurant was a short walk from our hotel and was great. It was pretty busy at but we were warmly welcomed and shown to a table. Provided with English menus. Most mains were presented as Fried Potatoes with..... other things on the menu...included Spaetzle and salad. Beer was usual German “fantastic” and wine by the glass had plenty of choice. Both had a schnitzel (one turkey and other pork). Both were perfectly cooked, not dry and good sized portions. Was a good dining experience in a very buzzy atmosphere. Loved it.
The unbelievably slow service was complemented by the rudeness of the waiters. Apparently, you can't order a beer and a steak because they're too busy to take the orders. Food was not bad, but surely not the best in HD
