The room was quite spacious, but it definitely needs a makeover as it feels a bit outdated. The accommodation building itself also appears to be somewhat run down. The service during check-in wasn't rude, but it lacked a personal touch with the concierge. When I inquired about the restaurant, he informed me that I would need to make a reservation in case it was full. However, it was a Tuesday during the off-peak season, and he did not offer to check the restaurant's availability, which I found very disappointing. Overall, the rooms are in need of modernization.
I didn't try the wine but the accommodation was enough. The room and in particular the bathroom was old and in average condition at best. The toilet was probably 30 years old and well past its use by date. There was no shower curtain so water goes everywhere, there was no shelving in the bathroom to put anything. Might want to think about at least changing the washes so less dripping. Location was good. Rooms: 3
Went to Serafino for a wine tasting. The wines we tasted were great. Ricardo was a wonderful host. His knowledge of Serafino wines, of the McLaren Vale area and his general knowledge of wine was fantastic. Well done Serafin, very well done Ricardo. Service: 5 Location: 5
As for the food and drinks: The food was excellent, with generous portions that made it unnecessary to order any extra sides, especially since we opted for a 3-course meal.
