The service at this restaurant is extremely poor. If I could give it a negative rating, it would be negative 10000000000000000. The staff is rude and always seem to be in a bad mood. It is clear as soon as you walk in that they do not want to deal with customers. They rush you to eat quickly and leave, even during payment. Additionally, they hide in the back so you cannot ask for necessary items like water, drinks, or utensils while dining. This restaurant is nowhere near the quality of the other restaurants in Jersey City. It is highly disappointing.
I have tried SGD multiples times to varying degrees of satisfaction. Years ago when they first opened, lovedddddd but lately (past couple of years) the quality has been downgraded immensely. For some reason, there are takeout bags on some of the tables and overstock near the front door, making the vibe of the restaurant look more run-down and questionable rather than homey, comforting vibes that I would rather have while eating dinner.
Came here for early lunch before our drive to PA. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Food came out quickly and tasted delicious. We got the Bibimbap and Seafood Sundubu-jjigae. There are many more options here than the other location in Hackensack. There is even a *special* menu, but they ran out of the Galbi-tang, which I was sad about. I ordered two seafood tofu soups from Uber Eats, but they did not come with eggs. When I called the restaurant to ask about it, a man explained that they only include eggs in tofu soup for dine-in customers because adding eggs to take-out soup would alter the taste. Personally, I find this reasoning quite humorous. Overall, the service for take-out was not up to par. The price per person ranges from $20 to $30.

I visited this restaurant for lunch on a Sunday and it was very crowded. Despite the busy crowd, the food came out quickly, fresh, and hot. It was incredibly delicious. The staff apologized for the slightly slow customer service due to the high volume of diners, but I thought they handled it well. Overall, I had a great dining experience. BEWARE! They charged 20% tip on our tab without telling us anything. We tipped another 20% and they didn't have a decency to let us know they already charged for it.
