Went to Shabu Zen for hot pot as a delayed Chinese New Year celebration. On a Saturday night unless you come really early like at 5pm, be prepared for a wait of 30-40 minutes. The service is a little slow and the chatter from patrons can be loud and fills the room. On the positive side, once the food arrives, things move fast. We ordered 3 of the meat combo dishes. The beef, lamb, pork and chicken were of high quality and there were lots of vegetables with each order. They have a good selection of sake and beer and the coconut sorbet was a great way to top off the meal. Parking was hard to find and the small restaurant parking lot fills up fast. All in all it was a very good experience.

Hot pot is one of my favorite dining experiences. What could be better than being out with friends, cooking your own food to top chart music, drinking hot soju on a cold Boston day? I think I must've dined here at least 50 times. And Shabu Zen never misses. An added star for free parking, making this place always easy access. Broth options are always solid, flavors are all amazing. My personal favorite combo 1/2 kimchi 1/2 miso. Ingredients are always fresh and cost is decent. Definitely a go to. Adding another star for proper ventilation you won't leave drenched in the aroma of spices and meat.

Shabu Zen is my favorite hot pot restaurant in Boston. I wish they had a location near where I live. The meat is fresh and flavorful, and they also have great vegetarian options. I love the experience of cooking our own food at the table and being able to have a relaxed conversation without feeling rushed. The service is excellent as well, with our waitress being prompt, friendly, and attentive. I highly recommend Shabu Zen!

Went to Shaub-Zen for my husband's birthday a few weeks ago. The wait on Sunday evening was a bit long but acceptable. The pot with 2 soup bases was great which give you the options to cook food in different flavors. But the food portion was small which made you order more dishes to satisfy your party. The prices of the dishes are too high for the quality of the food. Will try other places instead of going back. Book a table now

As new to this area we wanted to try a few places and we were really pleased with this one. The hospitality was amazing and the servers were friendly and knowledgeable. We got the half and half soup (mushroom and miso)which tasted amazing! May be too many peppers but overall it was great. Easy to order the meat and cook afterwards. Presentation was nice as well. 10/10 experience.Beef Combo

My girlfriend and I went for a late lunch/early dinner and the meal was perfect. The food was so good we actually ordered a second round of meat and vegetables. The service was amazing. I ended up accidentally leaving my baseball hat behind and our server actually ran out after us for about a block to give it back to me. Which was definitely above and beyond and very much appreciated.

This restaurant offers fast service and a wide variety of options, catering to both vegans and vegetarians. The meat and vegetables are fresh and the broth is delicious. With plenty of seating available, there is never a long wait. Overall, the food quality receives a perfect score of 5 out of 5.

We enjoyed the fresh, high-quality ingredients at this restaurant, especially the delicious soup broths like Mongolian spicy and tomato veggie. Our favorite dishes were the lamb and salmon. They also had a variety of vegetarian options available. Book a table now

I have been to quite a few Hot Pot places and I think this place is good for its value. It’s cheaper than some Hot pot places. My only complain with their broth is, it can get incredibly salty at the end.
