Went for dinner with just the two of us. The bar is very noisy with a concrete roof, three hard walls and hard floors. It was so noisy our waitress misheard our order and served salmon gravlax instead of salmon and pork rouille - I know - first world problems! The food was a bit hit and miss. Crab spaghetti was nice and chilli hot but not much crab with the lamb osso bucco lacking flavour. The wine list though was brilliant - had a great bottle of Italian red.I don't know whether this is the ideal romantic space for a couple on the weekend unless you like a good shout (and not of the drinks kind!).
I was here with my GF for dinner (after 10pm) because it was very close to our hotel and we didn't have any precise idea of what to expect.What I liked:- The wine list- The service (thanks Sandra !)- The food qualityWhere they can probably "improve":- The place was a bit too dark- The Italian-style recipes should probably be more "adherent" to Italian cuisinePrice was reasonable: about 60 euros in two, for a main dish and a glass of wine each + a bottle of water
Everything we had was absolutely delicious! We started off with some cheese puffs and haloumi (we love cheese) based on a neighboring table's recommendation. Our mains were the duck leg and the spanner crab pasta, both of these dishes were full of flavour. For dessert we ordered the pear tarte tatin and basically licked the plate. Definitely try this place out if you're in the mood for some mod oz, great atmosphere and delicious wine.
Fantastic food, lots of variety, excellent wine list. Staff were very friendly and very knowledgeable about both the food, wine and cocktails on offer. It was very busy and the atmosphere was great with chatter and laughter, I found the music at times to be a little loud and a touch intrusive.I would definitely recommend Shadow Wine Bar for a night out for couples or a group.

The service is shocking, constantly always asking for a drink and then waiting about 10 to 15 mins. The food came out within a good time. However The food was a hit a miss.. you don't mind paying more when you have great service and food. But this is not the place for that. I would not recommend to anyone.
Don't be fooled by the outside. it looks like a sad old building from the street level but inside it is swankie and is as awesome as any bar in London, Melbourne or Sydney!!!

Just came here for a light night drink, didn't eat. Wine list great, we chose a Unico Zelo Fiano and a Jura and both were superb and well priced. Loved the ambiance, staff were friendly. Would like to come back and eat next time I'm out west.
Nice ambience and location. It is decently priced, but I honestly couldn't fault the service and the food. Wine list is very extensive, to the point we couldn't choose so they gave us a few samples to help us!

It's a wine apero bar but for the non alcohol drinker who accompanies the wine friends: $7 for a small Coke. Seven $! That is not business that is theft!
We ordered salumi boards and little plates to enjoy with our wine it was Wa great.
