The extra meat is recommended. It is well seasoned. Way too much garlic or onion powder for me, it has a lingering taste in my mouth. I think it's from the chicken meat. I wouldn't order it as a mixed combo again. The gyro meat taste way better then the chicken.. The lettuce is fresh and crunchy as well as the tomatoes. when you order extra white sauce they put it in a packet on the side, which is amazing. Two stars because of the lingering/overpowering garlicky taste and the expected preparation time increased a lot after ordering, it took a while to get the food prepared but at least it was freshly made.
The young woman who helped me was exceptionally kind! I ordered my usual chicken over rice, and it was simply perfect! She even asked me to let her know when to stop adding the white sauce. The restaurant was also very clean. After I placed my order and sat down to eat, I took a few photos while the line moved quickly with more customers arriving. I would definitely recommend this place! The food was delicious!
They really need to improve their phone etiquette. I called to check if they were open, as we travel from quite a distance and it takes us some time to get there. The person on the phone responded rudely, saying, "If I'm picking up the phone, it means we're open. Why would I be answering if we weren't?" The Wantagh location is so much more professional and welcoming.
I ordered a gyro with the pita bread on the side, but they charged me for a chicken over rice (without the rice), and then added an extra $2 for the pita bread. The other Shah locations I've visited understood my requests without any issues. Here, it felt like trying to explain my order was just too complicated.

The food at this restaurant was delicious, but I wish there was a rice option available without onions. The quality of service varies depending on how busy it is. When there is a long line, they tend to rush and give you less food in your container. We always opt for the extra protein option.
I enjoy halal, and Shah's does it well at affordable prices. But I picked up food yesterday and there was a hair in it. I don't know if its a Hicksville thing or what, because this is the second eatery in Hicksville where I've found a hair in my food.
The portion size has noticeably decreased; the platter had hardly any chicken and was mostly rice and onions. I also requested extra white sauce, but there was only one serving provided.
The food I had was delicious, and they were quite generous with the sauce. However, I would have preferred if the sauce was served on the side for a better presentation.
