Shake Shack - Table reservation

The food at Shake Shack is always a guilty pleasure, but the service is lacking. Whether dining in, taking out, or ordering online, the staff is not quick enough to fulfill orders in a timely manner. While they are friendly, they are also very busy, leading to long wait times of up to 30 minutes for orders. It is not uncommon for part of the order to be wrong or for items to be cold or melted while the rest is being prepared. Our last visit was definitely our final one, as we experienced a gross incident where old beef fats flew from a rooftop exhaust vent and landed on us as we were leaving. Burgers are fantastic. Price is acceptable for the quality. Staff was not as nice as other Shake shaks. No eye contact and acted as if we were bothering them. For the price $40 after tax and tip for 2 people) the service should be polite and friendly. The food was good! If things change next time, I will then revise rating

I was taken aback when the waiter turned the credit card terminal around and asked me how much tip I wanted to leave. It felt uncomfortable to have to decide on a tip amount in front of everyone. I couldn't help but wonder if these workers were being fairly compensated. The whole experience felt forced and awkward.

The staff was fantastic, very energetic and welcoming. The food was good, but unfortunately there were several elderly men hanging around in the outdoor area, smoking cigarettes and talking about cars. It was unpleasant to eat with that smell, especially since I had my child with me.

Great food and great service! I have the special Oreo Shake so good! I love the burgers. So glad we stopped here on our way home during the Memorial Day weekend!
