I had no issues with this restaurant until last night. I ordered a battered fish with chips, cheese, and curry sauce, as well as a cheeseburger. The chips were cold, the fish seemed like it was frozen and reheated, and the burger was just okay. I also ordered Ben & Jerry's ice cream, but it never arrived and I eventually gave up trying to contact the restaurant. I ended up being charged £6 for something I never received. Consider that my last tip, as I will not be ordering from here again. I should have known better, as no takeaway in Rosyth or Dunfermline ever includes the ice cream or drink. I wasted £28 on this experience.
I ordered Nan bread and chicken tikka masala. The Nan bread was essentially just baked pizza dough folded in half, which was very disappointing. The chicken tikka masala was also not good. The sauce seemed to be made only with sour tomatoes and some nut pastes (probably almonds). The curry was overly sweet and sour, and the chicken pieces were not fresh. The name "Shalimar" seems to be a misleading attempt to portray themselves as an Indian/Pakistani cuisine takeaway restaurant. It feels like these cooks are amateurs who are learning through YouTube. I will not be returning here again. Thank you.
Chicken was raw/chewy In the kebab, I asked for large chicken kebab, received a kebab with donnar meat and little awful textured chicken. Hungry husband. For the price is was not the quality it used to be . Disappointed won't be back . Told after I phoned that I needed to state only chicken I asked for a large chicken kebab) not sure how clearer I could be. And I live too far to send a delivery I collected) and an extra something in next order was offered......... I won't be back
Although I am now retired, I used to frequent this restaurant twice a week when I worked as a field engineer. The donner kebabs on weekdays and curries on weekends were always excellent. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making it feel like a large family. Despite living twenty miles away, I will definitely be back because of the amazing aromas and excellent service. As a former service engineer, I appreciate the quality of their food and service. Thank you.

The mixed kebab at this restaurant is excellent. The service is also great, and they offer excellent takeout options for dinner. The price per person is between £1-10. The food and service both received a rating of 5, while the atmosphere was rated a 4.
