Our sever was very nice. However, the food was terrible. Our food was overcooked, dry and salty. If I didn't have a glass of water, I might have choked on the hockey puck of food they served. The place is Kosher, I get that the choices may be a tad limited if that's what you are looking for; but for the price range (appetizers averaged $20 , entrees averaged $50s , with a burger at $25). Server was nice, but did not ask why we only took a couple of bites of our entree and did not want the rest … – show

For an “upscale” bistro, you can see the worn furniture which is throughout the entire place. My steak was tough even though it was ordered as suggested (medium), and the server barely came to our table. In short, the pricing doesn’t match the experience you get with food or wine. I enjoy Kosher and have no problem paying $300 for lunch for 2, but I didn’t get anywhere close to a $300 experience in food or service. I would not recommend this place and will not go there again.
I always love coming to shallots but this most recent meal was extraordinarily special and that’s all thanks to the warm and wonderful service that Jimmy gave to us. What a wonderful guy! Really made my birthday feel special and was spot on with his recommendations, too! Coming to shallots is worth it for the food, but a meal becomes memorable when the service is exemplary. Thanks again, Jimmy!
Great fancy restaurant that’s in Skokie! Their food was really good! The chicken Marsala was really juicy and flavorful, definitely recommend it. The service was overall wonderful!! Book a table now
We had a great time. Food was delicious and service was impeccable. We never once had to look over to find a wait staff. Someone always came by to check on us. Great job!
Food was good but it took almost an hour for our food to arrive. Considering that the restaurant was barely one third full, that was unreasonable!
Nicely appointed. Pricey. A little too pricey for the location and for the experience but food was good and the service was very good.

""The Chicken Philly Cheesesteak sandwich was really delicious. The Pulled Pork BBQ was good too, but I believe it's a rule that it should be served with coleslaw.""
