Shamrat Indian Resturant

Living just around the corner, we used to be regulars. However our last couple of visits have gone from poor to dreadful. Service was limited to one over worked waiter resulting in many tables walking out. (We waited over an hour for starters! Food is not nearly as good as it used to be. Portions poor, quality dreadful. The owner seemed not to care as he said he's closing down and refurbing as a restaurant and cocktail bar! Certainly wont be visiting again. And considering that there is so much good competition in the area one would have thought that the owner would try and improve the quality and service.

We used to go to the shamrat a lot about 5 years ago,so what happened.the place was nearly empty on a Friday night.we actually had a nice meal and pleasent evening,but we did notice a lot of cut backs.no cloth napkins,smaller portions,dearer prices,a 4x3 wet wipe at the end of the meal and no drink on the house...it all adds up to poorer times....sad...use to be the place to eat in buckhurst hill...

We went into the Shamrat as the Indian at the top of the road as full, we were advised they had just opened so did not have too much alcohol and did not take cards. The food was EXCELLENT, we all enjoyed what we ordered and had a nice bottle of wine. Will visit again

Couldn’t see a hygiene sticker in the window so checked up the Food Standards Agency website this place only gets 1 out of 5 for hygiene which is highly off putting. Still unable to see the hygiene sticker almost a year later.

The food and service at this restaurant are excellent. The staff and atmosphere are lovely. I highly recommend this modern Indian restaurant. The presentation of the food is also exceptional.
