Shanghai Garden - Table reservation

The restaurant is just an average distance from my home. All the dishes are baked in a thick sauce and taste the same. The only decent dish is the Huh Chow Chief. I miss being able to go out and enjoy good food! We ordered a set menu with an extra chow mein for the whole family. The dish we ordered last time was too salty. When I went to pick up the order, they had forgotten to make the extra chow mein. When I arrived home, I realized that the extra dish was missing. I have had to walk around looking for someone else to order from. I think I will take a break from Chinese food for a while.

Had a takeaway from here as food is normally delicious albeit expensive. Ordered duck pancakes as per screen shot but only pancakes arrived. When questioned, we were told that we needed to order either half or quarter of duck to go with these although there...was nothing on the menu stating this. Extremely disappointed as it says 6 but not the case. When called was told pancakes for ducks but advertised as duck pancakes.

I waited a long time for my food, which ended up being cold. The owner was rude and started stacking dishes in front of me. I was surprised to see they were using generic HP sauce and didn't even have ice for our drinks. The lemon served was in lemon curd instead of lemon sauce. The menu had spelling errors and could use a good cleaning. When I asked the owner for help downstairs, she was incredibly rude.

The dining experience at this restaurant is consistently excellent. The service is top-notch, the menu selection is great, and the atmosphere is always relaxed. I have dined here multiple times and have never had a reason to be dissatisfied.

The place could do with a bit of a brighten up. The food is good, particularly the lunchtime buffet. Recommended
