We booked Sunday Lunch for 1pm, we arrived at 12.50 to a table of staff sat down giving us unwelcoming looks as we walked through the door. We found our table with name on only for 2 of them to shout over if we had booked a table. Once seated one of the young girls came over and asked for a drinks order, we had no menu to pick from and when we asked for a diet coke they did not have any. There was no diet drinks on offer at all, also asked for a J20 and they never had this either, bit difficult to know what to ask for without knowing what they have available. 1pm came and the carver started dishing up what looked like approx 15 takeaway containers, the waitress staff was then adding the veg...
We have eaten breakfasts here on several occasions over the last 4 or 5 years and stopped there again in Nov 2022. This time there were three of us and we all had something different. The food was served fairly quickly as we sat at our roomy table by a pleasant member of staff. The value was as good as one would expect to get in your average truck stop (and, perhaps, a bit cheaper than some). And the quality was good as well. I arrived at 12:30 on Sunday, December 3rd for the carvery, but there were no signs of meat and the room was freezing. I ordered a coffee, which took 10 minutes to arrive. People who had booked a table for 1:00 arrived, and the meat finally came out at 1:05, but the chef started to fill takeaway orders into containers instead. Everyone present was complaining about the long wait, and some people even left because of it. By 1:30, I went to the chef, who was still working on takeaway orders and told me he had 5 more to complete. We decided to leave at that point. Popped in for a cup of coffee while on at work. Service wasn’t great. Only one table occupied but the member of staff behind the counter said she was busy and another member of staff saw us standing at counter and came from sitting at a table and served. Advertised breakfasts and food looked good value but didn’t have time to eat. Coffee was ok, reasonably priced and brought to the table. Would like to try The Shed again and visit their farm shop if I have more time. Place was clean and tidy. 3 stars for less than average service initially.

We have visited The Shed on many occasions and have always been impressed with the freshly cooked food and the service. Today we had a meal and the meal itself was delicious as always. On this occasion we were served by a young teenage girl. She acted as if she didn’t want to be there. No welcome, no smile in fact quite abrupt and disinterested. Such a pity as the service in the past has always been amazing. If it was our first meal there, I would probably not return based upon this persons attitude.
Today, my group visited The Shed for breakfast and we were very pleased with the food. The waitresses, who were young and friendly, provided excellent service with a smile. The Shed has a cozy and relaxing atmosphere, making it feel like a home away from home. If you enjoy delicious food in a laid-back setting, I highly recommend making a reservation at The Shed.
I googled this place and read the reviews and they were right ! Top quality English breakfast and tea served with care and all for a very reasonable price . I'm not a veggie but fancied the veggie breakfast served with sausages I swear taste better than pork sausages . Try them
I initially tried to contact the restaurant by phone, but after ten unsuccessful attempts, I gave up. I decided to visit the cafe in person to check it out before planning to go with friends. However, after receiving almost no customer service, we will be dining elsewhere.

Turn up at 10.15 on a Sunday morning to be told we stopped doing breakfast. Don't waste your time bothering going you will be disappointed. First and last time we will try them, they turned away at least 10 people while we were there.
