I never write reviews but I felt this was warranted after the shock of opening my to-go bag. I spent $36 on two to-go meals and barely received any food. The beef meal pictured below was 18$ and there were only a few tiny pieces of meat (as you can see). Iordered a rainbow sushi roll for $15, and that is not what I got either. I basically receive a huge log of rice with tiniestbits of what looks like some mayonnaise-y crab mix in the center (which is not at all what a rainbow roll is). You can see belowhow much rice there was. They did not pack any utensils, and there was also no soy sauce so I had to eat this by hand, withoutsoy sauce, and eventually just threw it out because it was not a r...

Came here for my birthday dinner. Food was amazing, authentic, and delicious. For dinner they have a bunch of small plates that you can share and try a lot of different things. One favorite was the raw octopus with wasabi; they use fresh real wasabi (asopposed to the green colored horseradish that regular store-bought wasabi paste is) which has a sweeter, milder taste and wasvery nice. We also got the sake flight, which had the pleasant surprise of coming with a piece of salmon sashimi and octopus aspalate cleansers. All in all a wonderful experience, and I look forward to coming back.

4.5 stars The atmosphere was nice, it's a small cozy restaurant with a calming jazzy music background. The atmosphere kinda makes the eating experience feels like fine dining. The service was impeccable, they forgot my miso at first but they quicklyserved it to me once I asked them. The food was okay, the miso soup and udon are really nice since I eat them while it's coldand rainy outside. I think it's a bit overpriced tho, especially for such small bites (the food in the photo is $25).

It?s such a joy to eat here. Twice I have come here for the lunch menu, and have ordered the Matsu (Good for 2 people if you have 1 other side dish) and Ume (perfect for 1 person). The atmosphere and the staff are so warm and friendly. I?ve never had to wait more than 15-20 minutes to be served food, which I feel like is extremely reasonable- especially when they are busy. It?s a must try for authentic Japanese food in Boston at a really good price. Book a table now

4.5 stars Shiki has a warm, intimate atmosphere with gentle jazzy music that creates a refined dining experience. The service was excellent; although they initially overlooked my order, they promptly corrected it when I mentioned it. The food was good—especially the soup and udon, which were perfect on a cold, rainy day. However, I found the prices a bit high, particularly given the small portion sizes (the dish shown in the photo cost $25).

Overall, the food was excellent, particularly the very fresh seafood. I tried the matsu platter, which offered a delightful variety of dishes. I highly recommend these sets as they allow you to experience a range of flavors. The dinner menu also looked incredible, with even more choices available; I will definitely have to return for dinner sometime!

"The presentation was outstanding—definitely a 5-star experience. However, the food itself only deserves 2 stars. We ordered two lunch bento boxes, and while the noodle soup and salad were just average, the custard was quite tasty. Unfortunately, the sashimi portions were very small."

Very fresh and unique Japanese lunch and dinner options. The Hokkaido with fresh uni, ikura, crab, and scallops is worth the trip alone. Super friendly staff! A real hidden gem in Brookline
