When we arrived, there were dirty dishes and receipts left on the tables. However, considering the restaurant was understaffed (with just one person working), this was understandable. The food took a bit longer to arrive, but it was excellent with generous portions, and the prices were comparable to other Japanese restaurants in the area. I would definitely return on a Friday or Saturday night and hope they can hire more staff!
As for parking, there are a few spots directly in front of the restaurant, but they are shared with other businesses on the same block. While we didn’t have trouble finding parking, there is plenty available nearby if those spots are taken.
We really enjoy this spot. It’s laid-back and relaxed, with friendly and attentive service. The sushi and salads were excellent, but the highlight was the great vegetarian options for someone in our group. She mixed a few dishes together. The sashimi was beautifully presented, and the tuna roll wrapped in cucumber was generously sized. A charming, quiet Japanese restaurant—nothing fancy or overly trendy. We’ve visited many times and always have a great experience.
Had a fantastic takeout experience! The owner and sushi chef were incredibly friendly, and I appreciated the attention to detail in the food as well as the speedy service. The space looks clean and inviting, with authentic, fresh rolls. I’m eager to dine in next time and will definitely be returning soon!
The sushi was delicious, and they were very attentive to my food allergies. Although it’s not shown in the photos, we also ordered the eel rice plate and chicken udon, both of which we thoroughly enjoyed! The portions were quite generous, and all the staff members were friendly and accommodating.

This was some of the best sushi I’ve ever had! The fish in the nigiri sushi was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The couple running the restaurant are very friendly, and it’s clear that every dish is prepared with great care and attention to detail. I will definitely return!
The sushi tasted fresh and was quite good, but the preparation was lacking. There was too much rice, and the rolls weren't wrapped properly, which was a bit disappointing. The staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere inside is really cool!
Tasty beef soup (Sukiyaki). Very friendly owners. The interior may benefit from some professional designers. Kid-friendliness: Brightly lit, has children books and some cartoon running on one of the TVs.
Ito is the very best. He is so kind, funny and takes great pride in his work. The sushi is always fresh and his prices are very reasonable. His presentation is wonderful. Don’t miss this experience.

I graduated from Newton North in 1996. Now I am back in Tokyo. Shogun serves real Sushi and I enjoyed time to time. It’s not a fake SUSHI.
Food was excellent, service was friendly. It was late and we were the only people there. We had a lovely chat.
