This is certainly one of the best sushi spots I have ever eaten at. I've tried some very popular sushi spots in Manhattan as well and this little sushi spot in Great Neck trumps almost all of them. My buddy I are frequent visitors here for good reason.The sushi quality here is VERY fresh. Everything from the salmon sashimi, pieces of yellowtail, red snapper, and tuna every raw fish we tried was very good. This restaurant also does a good job of not serving so much rice with each sushi piece. This place definitely does not skimp with how much fish they give you per piece. My friends and I are looking forward to being frequent guests here.
One of my favorite Japanese restaurants. Their food quality is really good. We were there several times for both lunch and dinner. I would recommend Omakase, Ikura Don, Chirashi, Sashimi, etc. They have many more menus that I would like to try. we recently ordered the set for 2 which is fabulous and delicious. The level of freshness, quality of the fish, the rice and everything is way above the expectation. I rarely give 5 stars to the restaurant but this place is a gem. You don't have to believe me but just go there and experience it yourself. As far as my experience, this place is worth every penny.
An excellent local sushi option in GN. My husband got the 3x3 which came with 3 tuna, 3 salmon, 3 yellowtail and a salmon roll. One of each of the nigiri was a signature version of it, so one of the salmon was a house marinated version which was delicious according to the husband. The tuna was a Chutoro and was my husband's favorite. He also got the yellowtail scallion roll and spicy yellowtail, both were very good but I preferred the yellowtail scallion one. It just had such a clean, fresh taste to it. The rice to filling ratio was also very good.
I would live in this restaurant if i could! Quality is so good! Service phenomenal! Cute little spot for lunch and dinner. If i didn’t live in FL i would be a frequent customer here without a doubt! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

unfortunately, I come to leave a negative review. I got a stomach bug from this food. Threw up for hours. I had stopped having this a while back cause this is actually not the first time the food from shoshaku has made me ill.
Stopped in while visiting the USMMA. Very clean and welcoming. Our server was amazing and had some great suggestions on food and what Sake we might enjoy. Will be back! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Food is great much better than the other Japanese restaurant a block away. However, this place is extremely short handed. Only one waitress serving 5 6 tables. A lot of time wasted.
Was not super impressed. Just a run of the mill Japanese cuisine. The service was efficient and fast but we most likely not be back here. Sorry.
