The Silver Star restaurant definitely earns a Gold Star rating! Their food is both fresh and delicious, truly reminiscent of gold. My friend Aggie placed a holiday catering order, and I had the joy of savoring their incredible Guyanese home cooking. From fried rice and fried chicken to dhal puri and curries, every dish was absolutely delightful. It’s evident that the aunties in the kitchen are preparing something special for the community. Forget about any other options you were thinking of; head straight to Silver Star for a Gold Star dining experience!
This was my first time eating at a Guyanese restaurant, so I played it safe by ordering the chicken curry with a large side of rice. It was delicious with just the right amount of spice! The girl behind the counter was friendly and patient. My dad had the corn mutton bake, and I wish I had tried some, but he finished it before I even noticed! The coconut juice was amazing. We couldn’t have chosen a better spot for our first meal in Queens.
Stopped in here yesterday to grab a coffee... saw the food selections and decided to give them a try. I ordered a beef cook up with a side of jerk chicken. The beef cook up was very delicious and the jerk chicken was flavorful.... I'm glad I stopped in because honestly I don't think I ever would've ... now I'm hooked on their beef cook up lol... best cook up I've had in a long time... very impressed !
The mac and cheese was terrible; it tasted more like mustard than cheese. The fried chicken was extremely dry, and I also tried the beef curry, which was hard and dry—I nearly choked on it. I would never eat here again. I wish I could give it no stars, as that's what they deserve. They probably had their friends leave positive reviews, but for me, it’s a definite no!

Fish cake and Puri are absolutely amazing! If you haven't tried them yet, consider this your sign to give them a shot. It's the only thing I've ever ordered from Silver Star Roti Shop, but I'm confident the other dishes are just as delicious.
This restaurant is amazing! I've been a regular since 2019, and the food never disappoints. The ingredients are fresh, and the flavors are incredible. I highly recommend this place to everyone. Keep up the great work!
The food was absolutely fantastic—definitely a 10 out of 10! I ordered through DoorDash, and I was blown away by the amazing rice. The chicken was also good, and overall, I was very satisfied. Food rating: 5/5.
Such good food. I rarely stray from my usual, but everything looks really good. Usually get a piece of fried chicken and a piece of jerk chicken chopped up with some mac n' cheese on the side.Food: 5/5
