As a support member I was appalled at the lack of understanding of individual needs. Everyone has the same right to address a problem respectfully, the scenario was of a factual situation that made me not only concerned for vulnerable individuals but the lack of respect for human rights which has left me upset and frustrated. I was utterly disgusted with the final way my little brother and I were treated last night. My brother has Asperger's syndrome (autism) and severe OCD, so eating a meal and drinking his drink in a public place is stressful and something that takes him a lot longer than others. I understand that we overstayed and needed to be hurried/asked to leave, but after I explained to one understanding doorman and a seemingly understanding guy who works in the pub we were then intimidatingly stared at by a different doorman and told nastily they didn't give a s and to get out now. It’s a spoons … we knew what to expect food drink wise( our food was actually good and good value drinks) the bar staff however… so rude .. go to the bar to be treated with yeah , so give the drink order , and nothing but that the price and done , no customer service skills whatsoever and this is from 3 different staff, one of them looked managerial, the person that bought our food was very polite, but our dirty plates sat with us for over an hour. Main gripe was the miserable bar staff, if you don’t like your job , move on
Horrid food...... for the 1st time in many years i walked away from my meal along with my wife, we had the 6oz american burger, what arrived was a pathetic cheap thing. The accompanying drink of lemonade tasted like a fizzy river taff. i understand that there can be a higher staff turnover but this is about the quality of the food, not the service of the staff as they were friendly enough, so if you want an alcoholic drink you should be ok.

It’s hard to complain about a spoons but the Barry one has excelled. Let’s be honest we all know it’s cheap and cheerful but thought this experience needed sharing for head office to see. I ordered food which contained metal inside it, I took it back, didn’t make a fuss to be told it would be replaced straight away. I am still waiting an hour later (shocking).
Went in here twice for drinks. First time drink took a very long time to arrive. Staff not as friendly as other places in Barry perhaps under pressure? Second visit they’d run out of several beers! Although we wanted food this didn’t feel the place to order it which was fortunate as there are some really good places nearby that are not chains.
I visited here, earlier this year, the pub is much bigger than it looks , nice atmosphere, I had the vegetarian burger and wine , both were really good, decent food at a decent price in a nice area. Will go back again next time I’m in Barry.
We stayed local to the pub on our recent trip to Barry Island, We visited several times for drinks, and food... Always fast and friendly service, and the food was lovely and with it being a Wetherspoons Fantastic value for money... Thanks

I recommend this lovely pub/restaurant to anyone, they have excellent service and great customer service a cooked breakfast came with in 3 minutes it was good value for money and i would go back there again and again i'd give them 5
Typical Wetherspoons. Nice large dining area. Not overpriced. Good for families so all in all no complaints
