Been visiting here at least once every ski season since 2010, in which time and to this day it has been called Restaurant Marchental. I think they serve the best Goulash Soup available on the mountains from Elmau to Westerndorf. In the main it is a self service restaurant with a nice, up for a joke gentlemen frequently on the cash register. But on our December 2015 visit we were treated to great service from a table outside before we had the chance to walk inside to the self service, with menus on the tables (a one-off or something new I do not know and maybe because of the time of day, around 2.30pm, but an unexpected pleasant enhancement). This restaurant is right up on the top of Scheffau and only accessible via the ski lifts. You can get the gondola from Scheffau and ski down a blue run, or walk!!We ate here 4 days in a row during half term. It gets very busy but the self service queue is managed very well meaning that your food is still hot when you sit to eat.Over the week, our group sampled the currywurst, pancake soup, goulash soup, cheese pattie burger and fries, Tirolean special dishes along with a few other bits! All very nice and reasonable prices. The goulash soup was like a stew, huge bowl served with bread and just under 7 Euros...Would definitely recommend this for a lunch stop whilst skiing but would also recomm...

A modern self service place, convenient for the Eiberg lifts and the Osthangbahn back to Scheffau. Tea and fruit tea, 2€; Breze, 1€20. We call them pretzels in English, and they have shrunk into cocktail size and gone crispy. But this is the Austrian original, the size of your hand - salty and satisfying, goes well with beer. The Marchental is a handy refuge in a whiteout; and you can take the heated, covered Osthangbahn lift back up to Brandstadl if conditions stay poor. Which is probably what we should have done instead of feeling our way along to the Sudhangbahn. Most of the way its a road with enough fir trees to give a bit of contrast, until you reach the Sudhang itself, and a'll the tr...

Great Skihütte in a fantastic location. The service we received was very good, there is also selfservice available. The food is delicious and the amount you get is more then plenty to recharge your batteries.
