We had a fantastic culinary experience at Skyhawk for a birthday dinner, but unfortunately it ended up being a disappointing and unforgettable one. The service was lacking, with an unfriendly waitress who did not check on us after serving our meals. The hot turkey sandwich we ordered tasted chemically terrible and the bread was unchewable. My partner finished his plate, but I only ate a bit of mine and ended up getting sick later that night. The manager called to inform us that several other customers had also gotten sick from the same sandwich, but there was no apology or concern shown. It has been a week and still no follow-up from the owner as promised. This restaurant has serious issues...
First time at the new terminal building, so thought I'd try the new restaurant. I ordered the Airside burger (house burger) and a diet coke. $8.99 for a burger and fries is pretty cheap, and I found out why! It's probably the cheapest frozen burger...patty you can buy, and tastes like it too! And what are the thinking charging 2.75 for a CAN of diet coke??? Seriously? The staff is nice enough, and watching the planes coming and going is kinda cool. But not sure that makes up for the mediocre burger and the usury charge for canned pop. On the plus side, the Airport wifi worked very well!
Our family has been here on three Sundays for brunch. In every case the place is jammed and it takes an hour and a half to get food and the kitchen makes many mistakes with the orders. I know, they get slammed but they never...seem to plan for it. The food is mediocre, poor fish and chips, meagre chef's salad, watery soups and so so burgers, and so on. They never seem to compensate for the large number of folks who turn out. Like: make a smaller Sunday menu, get more kitchen and wait staff for heaven's sake. The staff are terrific but management really needs to fix the plan!
I ordered a full-sized portion of nachos, but they brought me a small half-sized portion instead (I have ordered the full size before and know what it should look like). When I asked about the size and requested that they make it full, the cook rudely laughed at me. In the end, I ended up paying $30 for this tiny snack and a medium glass of beer. It was ridiculous! Also, do not order the steak at this place. Not only is it more expensive than in Montana or elsewhere, but they simply cannot cook it properly. Book a table now
After a trip to see the snowy owls, we stopped at the Sky Hawk restaurant at the Boundrary Bay Airport for a quick lunch. We we amazed at how busy this little place was but since we really weren't in a great hurry, we enjoyed...the view of aircraft landing and taking off while we waited for the food. It was well worth the wait. The food was hot, tasty and had good sized portions. Price was reasonable and their coffee was good. We will come back again as we really enjoyed our luncheon.
This family-friendly restaurant offers views of the airport and the bay. It has ample seating and a bright atmosphere. The menu is extensive with a lot of variety, and most dishes are priced around $15. The food is tasty and enjoyable, and the service is very friendly.
A fabulous place to eat on a sunny day. Overlooking the airstrip you can eat while watching the light aircraft come and go. Very much a diner feel with a diner menu. Breakfasts are good. New modern building with clean washrooms. Free parking.
