Skylon is a curate 's egg. The location with stunning wide river view is hard to beat, but you are literally paying for that. The staff are welcoming and attentive (apart from not taking coats, which are hard to accomodate at the tables . Skylon 's prices in particular on drinks are over the top for the fare on offer. Skylon is the 'brasserie ' end ' of the room, but two of us still paid £150 for 2 courses each and a £40 bottle of wine between us (one of few 'affordable ' options on the list . My halibut was delicious but inexcusably tepid it was cooked OK so must have sat around before despatch to table. Frankly if I have to spend that much to enjoy this venue I will stick to the Skylon Gri...

The bad experience begins at the entrance with the smell of rotten fish. Subsequently, after sitting at the table there is a rude and rude waiter. The dishes are simply terrible and at an exorbitant price both for the quality and quantity of food. Dinner ended with the worst dessert I've ever eaten, a mousse that seemed prepared with the supermarket preparations. Horrible experience

If you to a restaurant for location and atmosphere you won't go wrong. If you're going for the food avoid. The food is of poor quality, small portions and poorly cooked. I have been to both the restaurant and the grill. I would avoid both. Have a drink at the bar and eat elsewhere. It is vastly overpriced for the poor quality of the food. Trust me and avoid.

We had a great experience with the fixed menu and wine pairing at this restaurant, considering it to be a fantastic deal with a wide variety of interesting choices. The staff were attentive and the sommelier was very informed. Book a table now

Our dining experience at the restaurant was exceptional. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. The food was delicious, with a great selection of vegetarian options available.

Our cocktail order got lost and we had to wait over 40min for a gin and tonic and a peach cobbler. Other than that is was a lovely meal and good service.

We had a fantastic evening with outstanding food and service at a restaurant situated on the banks of the Thames River, boasting incredible views.

Great restaurant, only issue is that the kids menu is not that child friendly for younger kids Book a table now

The restaurant staff was unaware of the services available at the Royal Festival Hall.
