one of the top 3 restaurants my friend and I were too and our favorites in charleston. eating was spectacular and our service was impeccable! we felt well looked after during our experience in the restaurant, from the bar tender, hostess, watergirl, server and waiter. we recommend this restaurant to anyone who needs a chic night in charleston/wants. there is a maisbrot and french brot starter (free). it was better than most brote, second, we ordered the charcuterie board and that was lovely. it had fun spreads and great tasting meats, including a leber spread (was good! . Got reservations here on the recommendation of a friend. Loved the atmosphere and hospitality as soon as we walked in. Had the oyster stew as an appetizer, and reached a new zenith of flavor. Imagine New England clam chowder, but better in every conceivable way. Unbelievably good, perfect. Got the swordfish entreé, and it was like the flavor of a steak with the texture of a fish, so juicy and flavorful. Wife had the lamb chops and it's the same story; tender, juicy, perfectly cooked. Our highest complements to the chef(s). We unfortunately only had one night to spend in Charleston, but now that we've been here, we know it's worth a return trip if for just this restaurant alone. the best restaurant we have eaten in charleston, and we have made the rounds with all the top places. we had the whispers and the hulls and grits, both were the best I ever had. the soaking, in which the muddles came, was so tasteful that we held them and asked for additional bread to immerse them. the garnels and geese were a generous part, a light spicy kick that was not too spicy and did not get rid of all the others. absolutely recommend both. a free cornbread comes with the meals. the only part was that the famous cocktail cost as much as the teller and was very weak, we unfortunately did not even finish the cocktail. highly recommended if I ever visit charleston again this will be the...
our server was warm and friendly. the manager came by and was also super cool. the classic Charleston dress of garnel and grooming was super tasteful, warm pleasant comfort and filling after a brutal 12-hour working day. the food was excellent and the service spot on. beautiful atmosphere and a wonderful time. the salate was delicious and they must try the coleslaw. super tasteful. sweet tea tasty and the double-burger as they would expect. very accurate. the maiscake was moist and warm, which made it extra delicious.
