I was excited to find this BBQ restaurant open on a Monday and got the sliced brisket sandwich to go along with an order or fries. The price was fair. The meat was fairly dry and flavorless. There is no sign of any smoking of meats going on anywhere, and certainly not in the meat. It was like it had been cooked in an oven, uncovered. It could have been salvaged somewhat with sauce, which they are proud enough to bottle and sell. Unfortunately, there was little on the sandwich and none included or offered. The chopped beef sandwich was tasty, but not the sort of BBQ I’m used to. It was more like a crockpot simmered sort of smoky beef mix, very lean and no bark. I’d have it again — it was delicious— even though it was not what I was expecting. Now their onion rings… wow! Best I’ve ever had! Their service… at the Sonic-style drive-up was s l o w. 20 minutes from order to car seemed rather long, especially without a touch-base or check-in to let me know they had to grow the onions first for those rings of gold. Maybe I just showed up on a bad day. I’d give them another shot sometime.
I absolutely adore this place! When I was growing up, we would drive an hour and a half for this amazing BBQ on special occasions. Now that I live in Florida, I always make it a point to stop by and grab a few pounds of their homemade sausage. I pack it into a cooler and freeze it so I can bring it back to Florida with me.
The portion sizes for the price are incredible. Everything we tried had excellent flavor, and the service was quick and friendly. We were just passing through and stopped for dinner, but we’ll definitely come back specifically to eat here again. Book a table now
Been stopping in here for years. Food is just as it was 15 years ago. The staff has always been very nice and friendly. The brisket and sausage are on another level.
The sausage sandwich could have used a bit more sauce, but I would recommend trying it nonetheless. The sausage itself was delicious, and the service was excellent.
